Jungle Friends - Gainsville FLA

Jungle Friends was a one night Harvest Host stay. We arrived and were a little nervous about the narrow entrance and low trees. We made it through the jungle entrance and they directed us to a horse arena to park for the night. The monkeys are AMAZING. They have 265 monkeys that are rescued and given loving care to rehabilitate them and make them happy. Their cages are well built and roomy allowing travel to other cages in overhead tunnels. They were so fun to watch and very cute! We particularly like the spider monkeys. The hosts gave us a golf cart tour and we were able to get pretty close. I’d do it again and stay a couple days to be a volunteer. We bought t shirts and made a donation.

It was a bit warm and we broke out the generator to run the AC for a couple hours. We hadn’t run a generator for a while, so it was time anyway.

We’re so cute! All 265 of us.

Many of us rescued. Bob Barker donated to help

We were allowed to set up in the horse arena. No horses, so it was a great spot.

The exit/entrance had us a little worried but the trailer made it with ease.
